Flora and Fauna- There are quite a few animals in Indonesia, many of which are quite the rarity. Some are only found in Indonesia, while others are in danger of being extinct. One such example is the Sumatran Tiger, the smallest living tiger subspecies. There are less than 400 living on the island of Sumatra. Another animal is the Babirusa, a warthog-like animal that grows incredibly long tusks. Other animals include sun bears, short-clawed otters, and the Sulawesi macaque. The sun bear can be dangerous, but they are sometimes be kept as pets. Rare spices once grew here, such as cloves and nutmeg, prior to the European colonization.
